I currently have Fios (internet, phone, and TV) and I love the service. However, the price has gradually increased to a point where I'm considering to switch over to Cox. Anyone made this change recently. Did you found the price to be cheaper with Cox as opposed to Verizon

If you like Fios call them and ask to speak with customer retention and they will likely offer you a deal to keep you. You can save money and not deal with having to switch all your stuff over.

However, it's always going to be cheaper if you switch to a new company every couple of years to take advantage of new customer deals. This is how they get you to switch - by pulling you in with a cheap intro price. You'll save more by switching to Cox for two years, but once you're off their new customer deal you'll be looking to go back to Fios again (after a certain away you become eligible for their new customer deals again).

Try the option provided by Boyd888 first. It should work in most of the cases.

if you are married or living with a partner, just cancel the service under your name and get a new service under your partner's name. It is considered as a new customer and you will be eligible for new offers.

Also, check if your employer has a connection with Verizon to get more discounts.

Verizon Connections

Not Cox -- but I switched to Comcast from Fios after I moved last fall. Cable is way cheaper and I'm satisfied with it. Fios has better internet but that shouldn't really be a problem unless you're like a rabid online gaming person and need tons of bandwith.

If you are prepared to switch, you have nothing to lose to call Verizon and let them know you will be canceling if they don't lower your price. First person, maybe even second person will tow the company line. But then you will be transferred to someone who will lower your rate for a year. Then be prepared to go through the same crap a year from now. It is the same whether you have Comcast, Verizon or I assume Cox. Good luck
