You're making it sound like there are never crime/problems/violence in Europe, Mexico, South America etc., only in the United States. Any tourist is a target anywhere in the world. Criminals are criminals and they come in every race in every country in the world.

Don't know where you got that idea since I never said so or implied that.

The link directly above is a fascinating read. Thanks for sharing.

Well, that's because they have to know how to fight first. If movies have taught me anything, (everything) it's that Elijah Wood, all hobbity 5'6" of him, can go to England, join a hooligan gang, and be the toughest SOB in the fight within the span of 90 minutes.

Of course we drink and fight on this side of the pond, we know how to get the job done

On a more serious note, that's what should have happened at the meeting in McLean months ago. Check ID's, kick the non-locals out to the street.

Yes. The issue here is that it was originally advertised as a County Board Meeting, which requires it to be open to the public. If you are going to have a resident's only meeting, please do - just don't advertise it as something else, or hide the fact that it is one.

The seven Virginia state legislators representing Arlington have now jointly written the landlord of the building on Pershing Drive asking the landlord to reconsider the lease to NOVA Armory. I'm not suggesting it will have any effect, but it would seem to reflect some level of confidence on the part of the legislators that most of their constituents object to the store's location.
