I have heard some horror stories about window replacement, was wondering if anyone has some good recommendations? (Sterling area)

I had Vinyl Lite install my windows and two sliding glass doors. Completely satisfied. Excellent product and excellent work.

Be careful when you replace windows. Some areas will not allow vinyl windows, primarily in historic areas, but some jurisdictions and HOAs are picky about what you do as well. We had a situation in Alexandria where a homeowner had to redo her windows after picking the wrong kind for the area, since the contractor doing the first installation did not check with the building code.

I used Dryhome Roofing and Siding. They are not the cheapest but they delivered what they said they would and finished the work as promised without creating a big mess.

Sunshine Contracting Corp. replaced two bedroom windows, as well as a sliding glass door in my tiny condo. (They were one, of two, pre-approved contractors for the HOA; the other ONLY sold package window/door replacements for us.) That said, they were pretty awesome to deal with; and, the two gentlemen (Lee & Seu) that came out here were super nice, knowledgeable, quick, clean, and efficient. They really did an awesome job! I can't comment on price comparison, since I only contacted two companies - but I don't think it could hurt to get an estimate. Good luck!

I have met with three companies, all more "local" with good reviews on Angie's List, Home Advisor, etc.. I am trying to determine which window is "best" since none of them sell the exact same one. LOL
Thanks for the reminder about the HOA - I submitted and already got approval for that piece so one part done.
Have been learning more about windows than I ever wanted to.
