I am constantly wrong about OPM's calls, but I would be really surprised that they'd shut down.

While it will be an awful inconvenience for those who attempt public transportation tomorrow, there is still a means to get in. Unlike snow, the buses are still running and they can beef that up, although it will never compensate fully.

The worst part is that they didn't announce this until about 4PM and by the time most people hear about it, they haven't prepared to telework tomorrow. They should have given 24 hours notice but I guess this was somewhat of an emergency call.

I would bet liberal leave/unscheduled telework for 200 Alex.

No, it was put out by my department. OPM has still not made an official announcement.

OPM can put out it is an admin day. But guidance I have so far and what they are discussing is what I previously posted. They may have changed their minds behind the closed doors.

I agree OPM will make it liberal leave/telework--as they've been inclined to do the last 5 years in all but the worst weather.

People forget there are a lot of agencies nowhere near Metrorail, where 99% of people drive in.

People also forget that there are a lot of positions in the federal government where telework simply isn't feasible.

I don't really care though. I can bike/take a bus. This is the benefit of living in Arlington.
