Hello!
We are a group of 15 adults and 10 kids( ages between 7 and 14) who will be visiting Harper's Ferry and returning to the Reston area this Sunday. We are thinking of stopping by a winery for wine tasting but would like a place that is kid friendly. Any suggestions are welcome

Barrel Oak Winery in Delaplane is extremely kid & dog friendly. I've only been once, but it was a great outing for the whole family. We took our toddler who was served juice when we were doing our wine tasting. On weekends they frequently have live music & a pizza oven going, so you can hang out outside, let the kids play frisbee or something, while you drink wine. And there are tons of dogs! You can even take dogs inside the tasting room.

It's pretty hard to find wineries in VA that aren't kid friendly. Honestly the only one that comes to mind is Delaplane Cellars. Almost every one welcomes kids and sometimes dogs. A couple of my favorites are La Grange and Quatros Goombas. The wine at QG is mediocre but they have an adjacent brewery which is good and the land is huge and fenced in(a plus if kids are running around). It's hard to really go wrong at any of them though. VA has some great wineries

Many wineries require advance notice for groups of 6 or more, so be sure to check before you go.

Why yes, it certainly is. But it is VERY out of the way for someone coming back from Harper's Ferry to Reston.

To me, the best place for you to go is Sunset Hills. They accommodate large groups, always have kids running around; and have live music on weekends. And, it's right off of Rt 9, when you are driving back.

Children do no belong at wineries or anywhere where alcohol is being consumed. Get a sitter.

Really? So you've never had a family cookout or gathering where kids were around and grownups were drinking alcohol? Weird
