I recently bought a burgandy couch and have blonde/caramel color walls. Looking for curtains...I want a stripe curtain...with a red stripe and maybe the main color be green/sage or blonde...a mix of these colors. I don't want the red to be the main as I think it would be impossible to match the couch.
I have looked at Penny's, bed bath and beyond, linens n things, tjmaxx, restoration hardware, pottery barn (who used to sell what I wanted but no longer do), crate and barrel...Am I missing somewhere?

Country Curtains in Arlington. They have a great website and catalog service if the drive is too far.

I wish I knew. We still have not gotten around to buy curtains - no choices in the stores. Are they any curtain wholesale places around?

One more note about curtains: If you are buying a newer home, you may need curtains that are longer than the standard lengths available in stores. In that case, check newsletters for your association. People who are selling/buying homes often sell the custom made curtains that will fit your windows.

Default Curtains

Hi,

you could try Ross off Rte 50 at Greenbriar - you can sometimes get lucky there!

If you tried JC Penney's, I assume that you tried Sears.

According to shoplocal.com, there is also an outlet called Plow & Hearth in Fairfax that sells drapes.

thanks! I did try Sears. Haven't been to Lowes yet, but will try there as well. I ordred some samples from Country Curtains, but didn't know there was a store...may just drive there as well.
I agree...the selections in some stores is very poor

Catalogs and websites have much better selections than stores. Try jcp.com or domestications.com. There are others but those are the two that I have primarily used. Also you can get a copy of their catalogs if you prefer browsing through.

The Country Curtains store is a fun place. The last time I went there they had all kinds of displays and samples. It's right near Rt. 7--I believe the neighborhood is called Arlington Forest.
