Does anyone have any experience living in a sunroom at the Meridian complexes? I would like to know if you have any warnings or insights for me before I sign a lease.

From what I've heard, the temperature regulation is an issue, but in my opinion, that's a small price to pay for a great apartment in my favorite area. I'm looking at the Ballston location, but I'd love to hear from anyone who's lived at any of the various Meridian locations.

If it is a sunroom I am not sure that would qualify as an apartment; also without the appropriate heat/electrical I dont know if that even qualifies as a "legal" room for rent. I am not familiar with that area though and potentially I am mis-reading the description of your potential rental opportunity

It looks as if it's apartments with an enclosed sunroom, and that there are french doors separating the sunroom from the rest of the apartment. If that's the case, I can't see how it would be any different than any other apartment with doors to an open patio, for example.

Haven't lived there, but I've been in the building. They call it a sunroom, but really it's a den with floor to ceiling windows. Most people make it their office area. I assume you are signing a lease to share an apartment and planning on just sleeping in the sunroom. Not my first choice of places to live...bring blackout blinds and a space heater for the winter.

My daughter interviewed with a group on Craigslist but decided the lack of privacy/heat/cold issues were not worth the asking price.

Oh, I think I may have misread the original post. OP, are you talking about actually sleeping in the sunroom?

I never have but see these ads are all over the internet. The only thing id say is that the sun room tends to be smaller than the bedrooms. You will be my neighbor now though!

My only caution is that a sunroom can become unbearably hot during the summer months, even with window coverings. I would also presume that your potential roommates would not allow you to adjust the AC to cool the sunroom sufficiently as that would likely make the rest of the apartment freezing.
