Hello,

I did the usual searches and picked up some good information. I'm considering a relocation to Reston by the Town Center (267/Reston Pwky). I'll be looking for a 4-5 BR home.

Due to housing prices, I've looked into Leesburg because they seem cheaper. I don't mind a 30 minute commute, but I've read about tolls for this route. Is this accurate? How much would they be?

Are there other areas within 30-45 minutes that are cheaper than Reston, but still a nice area? Rural would be fine.

Thank you.

It is very accurate. There is the Green Way and then the Dulles Toll Road (Route 267) and each of them have separate charges along with a couple of toll plazas that connecct the Green Way to 267 and 267 with 495/66 . If you plan on commuting in 30 minutes from Leesburg that will cost you somewhere around 13 dollars round trip every day of the week if you take both toll roads. Areas that are cheaper than Reston include Herndon and Sterling, both places have their nice spots. I'd also suggest Chantilly because you wouldn't be taking the Green Way and have the option to bypass 267 completely taking normal roads. It does save a bit of time though for days when you just want to get home or if there is an accident along ffx county parkway.

Tolls ~$260/month, plus fuel, sanity, wear/tear on your vehicle, and TIME .......don't do it CMPX2! Stay in Fairfax County!
