I changed my work schedule to come in later so I could take advantage of the lighter traffic

Now whatever *******s that runs the express lane moved the lane flip from 11a to 10a so now if I'm running a few mins behind I miss the gate at exit 143

I've been crawling in traffic from 143 to 170..

Express lane management can contract C diff and burn in hell

Don't run late. Leave earlier. Problem solved.

If you're missing it by just a few minutes, then move up your morning routine to give you more time.

Lightbulb What job is that flexible?

If you're in traffic at 10am, what job has that much flexibility in hours?

Late in DC is those who start at 8am.

Interesting post. We were coming home from King's Dominion on Sunday and saw the messages which read something like, "Reversals begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday". My wife swears it said "Wednesdays", so we were wondering what they meant exactly.

We don't commute for work, so I'm sure those who do use 95 understood.

I think it says Weekdays (as in M-F) - not Wednesdays.

Yeah, that would make sense.

I asked her and she is convinced she saw me that read Wednesdays and one that read Weekdays. Weekdays makes sense.

since the beginning the lanes were northbound up until 11a, with an hour or so to flip the lanes. the service truck is normally sitting @ the beginning and i've seen him hit the remote the lower the gates @ 0955 yesterday. I work flex hours and i enjoyed the fact that @ 1000 hrs the traffic was much lighter and the fare was ok up to the mixing bowl..

The point of this post was to question the logic of flipping the lanes so early. yes it's annoying and yup.. A slight mod in my work hours and i'm good but not everyone has the flexibility in their job schedule..

They are also starting the clearing the the trees in the median for the extension so eventually that will cause and issue also

I believe it has to do with summer traffic.

Historically, on I95 during the summer, southbound traffic is a bear so the earlier they flip the lanes to go southbound the better. I'm sure it maximizes their profits as they probably didn't get very much traffic going north at that time. They will make more by flipping earlier.

I wonder if it will be permanent or just for summer.
