They have got to come up with a better solution (like some type of bypass or extended VRE service) for that corridor and the express lanes aren't the fix all.
It is always pretty bad; however, mid-summer is the worst of it so you have seen it at it's absolute worst. All the southern beach traffic bogged down through there. It's just a very highly populated area. I know that I could not do it, but plenty do. I think some sort of bypass is the answer. I believe that's how they solved the problem with Richmond but I'm not sure the land is there for it.

The other issue is crossing the Rappahannock. There's only two ways right now, I-95 or Rt. 1 unless you go way west to Rt 29.
