No argument here, Shoppers is great!

But, two words:

Duck Donuts.

The end.

Yeah, they are good! But I like to think of Shopper's donuts and Duck Donuts as two separate classes of donuts. Sometimes you're in the mood for that big, puffy Shopper's donut and sometimes you want the rich, cakelike, unique topped donut.

Haven't tried either Duck or Shoppers, but I can tell you that Sugar Shack makes excellent donuts.

I totally agree. I do not see them competing and if they are Duck Donuts is doing something wrong.

I go to a donut shop and they better have good donuts. I go to Shoppers and they have good donuts, well that is just awesome.

Why is donut coming up on my spell check? I don't get it. What is wrong with me?

But Duck has cake donuts. Those are totally different types of donuts. And they are totally different cost points with different expectations.

Because it's really spelled "doughnut."

No need to feel stupid; "donut" is officially noted as a variant spelling by Merriam-Webster, a US regional spelling by Oxford, and so on. Several of the businesses mentioned in this thread use that spelling.

Mmmm. Donuts.

Shopper's does have good donuts. Sugar Shack and Krispy Kreme are my top seed. Duck Donuts is my least favorite. I can't pinpoint exactly why because I do enjoy a good cake donut. I think maybe their donuts are just too heavy, and it just doesn't sit well.

I'm also not a fan of loading a donut with toppings. A regular glazed or cream filled donut is perfect for me!

Duck Donuts is not something I ever want to eat in the morning, as with a traditional donut. I do enjoy picking up a box after dinner at one of the places in the town center area in Woodbridge, so I sort of view them as a dessert much like a cupcake. Shopper's Donuts are the ones I'd bring to a morning office meeting.
