The Inn at Little Washington is an uber-expensive inn and restaurant. Don't think you'll find low cost housing there.

Yep I've noticed the Inn is almost 800$ a night, super fancy.

I'll just keep an eye out. We are leaving this weekend so hopefully something pops up fast otherwise I'll have to just make a decision.

I took BigFoot's comment to mean that he was asking if the OP's girlfriend would be working at the Inn at Little Washington.

She didn't get the job at the Inn. So we just applied to a place in Broadway, VA.

Broadway is a little town but it seems to be an active one. We live about 20 minutes north of this. You're close enough to Harrisonburg yet far enough out to have some solitude.

The guy responded back saying it's already been rented. They could have told me before I payed for the application. Errrrrr. This area of the country is so frustrating to find a place to live.

Have you looked at New Market? Mount Jackson?

Now that your GF is not locked into working in Washington, you can expand your search a little more.

I do think the rural location is hindering your search. There won't be as many rentals available. And of course, having a cat will narrow it down even more. What is your rental budget?

Maybe check the classifieds of the local newspapers for the Valley.

Our budget is $800 a month but prefer it to be around $700.

A real estate agent in Luray contacted my GF about downtown Luray for a one bedroom and two bedroom for 500 and 550. She was showing a house and said she'd get back to us with some pictures but if that works out I think that will be our choice, close to work and pretty cheap.

I just hope it's not income restricted. We've seen a lot of those around the area as well. We found some pretty perfect places but they said I make to much a month. They annualize the income even though I only work six months out of the year. If they took my actual income I would have got into one of those.

I'll check out these classifieds in case these downtown luray leads don't pan out.
