How long does it take to get from Rt 234 Commuter Lot to the Pentagon if you depart around 7am? I can read the bus schedules; I want to hear from someone who knows how long it actually takes. Also, how long does it take slugging? Thanks!

Which Rt 234 commute lot? There is one off of I-66, but since you mention slugging I guess there must be one off I95 as well?

There are two slug pickups off the 95 and 234 interchange But the main one is the large lot on 234 south of 95 - across from mcdonalds.

In the times I've taken the bus, the schedule matches reality give or take 5 min. Exceptions are a wreck on HOV or regular lanes can add 30 min, an hour, etc.

To cover DC traffic, if you have a solid reputation at work and rarely have traffic related issues, you should be fine.

There is no way to shave the edge of traffic in DC. If it takes an hour each way, you may have days where it's 50 min but you can never plan for 50 min. When you have important meetings, you'll just have to arrive 30-45 min early or even more.

Often the questions on here seem like people who are new to the area are seeking the magic bullet and there are 3 million others also seeking that magic carpet to work.

I asked a similar question regarding the Potomac Mills commuter lot. I'm trying to fine tune my house search area to plan on getting to the Pentagon within a 1 hour commute. It appears that if I can find a house within 10 minutes of the Rt 234/I95 commuter lot then I will be in good shape. Thx for the inputs.
