I am moving from Alexandria City and am very interested in living in the Island Creek area. I have been watching the housing market in that area for the past year and have noticed that there are rarely SFHs for sale in that area. There is currently one house on the market now, but I am wondering if anyone knows of any other Island Creek houses that are coming on the market in the spring or summer. Thanks for your help!

I assume you're talking about the subdivision of Island Creek off Beulah Street near Telegraph Road. That subdivision, as well as others in the area, feature far more condos and townhomes than SFHs. That's likely why you're not seeing a large inventory of SFHs.

This is exactly the reason. There is very limited inventory of SFH within Island Creek. In 6 years of living across the street in Kingstowne, we always kept an eye out for houses, and they didn't come open very often. If you like the area, you can expand your search to the area around the corner on Telegraph, Raceway and a couple other neighborhoods..Windsor I think. They feed into the same schools. When you do your search beware that they have a Lorton address. There is also Kingstowne, which is a little pricier.
