22192 (Lake Ridge)
22043 (Falls Church)

Vanpool.
40 minutes, each way, door to door.

I work for the gov'mint, so your tax dollars subsidize my ride. I drive once a week. Really, a vanpool (that's paid for), using the HOT lanes on 95 and 495 is the best commute I could POSSIBLY hope for going from Woodbridge to Falls Church and back.

1:45.

A. 20181 (Nokesville, VA)
B. 20004
C. VRE

I would never do this commute without the VRE. It's clean, quiet and reliable. I can work, read, or watch movies or TV - basically, my bit more than an hour on the train is just an extension of my day. My 15 minute walk from L'Enfant to work is pleasant exercise. The 11 minutes it takes me from leaving my house in the car to walking on the train is the only "bad" part of my commute.

Driving that distance would make me want to stab my eyes out.

30 minutes in the morning, 20 minutes in the evening as I leave at the tail end of rush hour.
A. 20170
B. 22102
C. Personal vehicle - solo

I could drive to Wiehle metro and take Silver Line to McLean station and walk 1/4 mile to office. This would take at least 45 minutes or longer and involve paying to park.

If I ride my bicycle to work, it takes around 1 hour and 15-20 minutes.

What's that...about 5 miles? 45 minutes to go 5 miles? It just proves that NO ONE should ever go by distance to determine commuting times in the DC area.

Is that driving yourself? Have you tried cutting through the Beverly Hills/Del Ray/Rosemont neighborhoods?

I'm in Alexandria - about 8-10 minutes from Shirlington. I drop off/pick up my husband in Old Town (King Street by the water), and that's about a 15 minute trip. If you are driving and were to cut through those neighborhoods, I think you could cut down that time significantly.

I listed my regular commute above, but thought I would add in another commute I have been doing fairly regularly.

It's from 22193 (Woodbridge) to Kingstowne (not sure of the zip but it's right at the major shopping center).

I leave my house at about 7:10 and Waze usually tells me it's about 40 minutes. Nah, it's closer to an hour. This is by car.

Sorry guys, it's metro.

I could probably make the drive in fifteen, issue is parking.
