Does anyone know of any atm locations in the area that dispense larger bills (50s or 100s)? Arlington/Fairfax/Loudoun are all in my commute. Doesn't need to be a specific bank, since I have free withdrawals. I haven't had any luck finding one.

It was much easier to find these when I lived in New York and I don't want to travel with a bunch of 20's. The atm's here don't seem to give you an option. It's a pain to get to the bank during business hours to make a simple conversion, so it'd be more convenient at an atm.

CapitalOne Bank Branch on the corner of 123 and Hunter Mill allows you to choose a bill mix, I believe ...

Too bad they closed the OTB in Marshall, but there is still Charlestown and their ATM will give you 100s. Slots may operate 24/7 but better check. Is there a casino at National Harbor now? Many of the gentlemen's clubs will have them, too, but there always seems to be a dancer with a boil on her arse in Virginia.

Go to a grocery store like Safeway
Buy a small item such as a soda
Go to the Custy Service desk, pay for it as a debit with cash back and ask the clerk for 100's

I never go to atms for cash

I actually just went to the bank teller during my lunch break for this. But, it's still weird to me that we don't have atms that let you pick your bills. I didn't realize they weren't that common.

Hmmm, physical cash. I vaguely recall that from yesteryear...

There's a bank every thirty feet in most of NoVa. Unless you are in jail or the hospital, nobody doesn't have time to go to the bank.

I agree that there are lots of banks. They may not be your banks though, and they may not be open. I haven't been in a physical bank in 6 years since switching to an online option. I don't miss it a lick.

Cool story.

I never said there was no way to get bills in NOVA. I was asking about a specific way (common elsewhere in the country) that was convenient for outside bank hours. The ATMs where I lived in new york let you pick out anything from 1's to 100's. Very modern of some of you to not use cash. How cutting-edge you are. But, there are still situations where it's useful.
