Most definitely. Every non-govt. employer we can attract is a good thing.

They're essentially here to be a government contractor. There is no real difference. They are in NYC to get into the banking industry. Without subsidies, it just makes it more expensive to make a big splash into all the different areas of financial services in a short time. They will take their time now.

As long as employees continue working (and getting paid) the next time a shutdown is announced, it's all good to me.

Well Google just scooped up Reston's trophy building. Google had its eyes on this bldg. for sometime time, but interestingly enough, Google is closing in on the deal a day after Amazon stated it's pulling out of NY. I guess Google wants to grab the building before someone else does.

Exclusive: Reston poised to benefit from Google's growth plans

Amazon received a tax break for buying a parcel adjacent to the Loudoun-Fairfax proposed site for the HQ2 competition

https://finance-commerce.com/2019/02...ichest-county/

"AWS was already one of Loudoun County’s biggest taxpayers, and the company was gearing up to do more. But as heartened as members of Northam’s team were about AWS expanding in Virginia, they were also frustrated that the meeting wouldn’t touch on a far bigger prize: HQ2. Data centers create about 60 jobs per building; HQ2 promised as many as 50,000 jobs, as well as a $5 billion investment from Amazon."
