I'm curious, did you compare them against any other companies? I've always known them to be a little pricey vs other companies.

My husband works with several HVAC people on his regular job. While F.H. Furr will do a good job, they are the priciest of the bunch.

I interviewed 3 HVAC contractors, all ranging in price. You'd be surprised what they will charge the same thing. My coworker got a quote from F.H. Furr for her replacement which was going to be $12,000. She got the same thing through anther contractor for $6,000. Not sure what's up with them.

FH Furr is Costco's prefferred contractor fwiw. Costco has their hands in everything nowadays, I've heard good things about vacations, but this time around it was just too expensive.

I paid $14000 for an American Standard GOLD series 2-stage AC, 2-stage furnace and wifi thermostat. They financed it for 5 years interest free through FH Furr. Signed the contract on a Wednesday, and it was installed two days later. It is super quiet and replaced a 15-year old Goodman unit.

But it can. Just be mindful of that. Quartz does have a small percentage of polymer in it that can burn.
Christine, did you mean he warned you that quartz is not as durable as some would like you to believe? I think you meant to say quartz, but just wanted to double check. We've got new countertops on our list as well and while we like quartz, durability will be key for us. Maintenance isn't an issue, but durability for what might be a common mistake in a kitchen certain would be.

Yes, sorry, I messed that up.

He did say that quartz is not as durable as it's made out to be. It's every bit as durable (if not more) than granite but it's not perfect. He's had to deal with a few burns in quartz. I think most people don't realize that.

We had Brennans do our HVAC when we had to replace it awhile back. $9K for a Carrier single stage Infinity heat pump and air handler plus the Infinity control. Furr wanted a couple grand more I believe, another company wanted to put in a Trane unit that I'd done my homework on and wanted nowhere near my house at the time (high failure rate). It's been pretty solid with a lower electric bill even.

Oh, that's a name I forgot. Yes, Brennan's is also pretty reputable and I'd have not issues using them.
