Hello,

I just got a new job offer in northern Virginia and I will be relocating there next month. My office is in Alexandria VA but I will also work at client sites in Washington DC. My base salary is $60k. Where can I live that is close to Alexandria and Washington DC, is in a nice area, has good schools, and the rent is about 1/3 of my income. I'm a single mother with one child in High school and the other one in Elementary School. I would like to live in Alexandria, but most 2beds/2 baths are $1,900 - $2,200/month. Please recommend apartment complexes or condos. Thank you.

So...how much exactly can you pay per month for rent?

Just curious...if you have a kid that is (presumably) flying the coop in a couple of years, why do you need two bathrooms?
