I am possibly moving to Alexandria, VA in the fall and am looking for advice on places to live (apartments), as well as areas and apartments to avoid, and areas that are the best to be in. I am a young professional, late 20's early 30's. I am looking for a 1 bedroom, 2 would be nice but only if it is affordable. My budget is around $1,700, and I would like a place with a pool/outdoor area and that has a balcony. I am looking to be in an area where you can meet people with bars, restaurants, outdoor activities, maybe even some beach volleyball places. Anything is helpful, as I don't know the area at all. Thanks!

The 22314 zip code covers Old Town Alexandria and some of the immediate surrounding areas. Start your search there. You should be able to identify both apartment and rented condo properties that fit most of what you're looking for. Your budget will likely land you a 1-bedroom, but not a 2-bedroom unit.

I assume you'll be working in Alexandria?

Ok, thanks! I assumed as much. I am not sure where I'll be working yet. If I can transfer with my current job i will be working remotely so that will not matter.
