I understand regarding not wanting to have to drive for everything.

If Reston interests you, go to realtor.com and do individual searches using the following zip codes: 20190, 20191 and 20194.

See what there is in your price range in each zip code. 20190 covers the area around RTC. 20191 is south of the toll road. 20194 is north of 20190 and covers North Point village.

I would recommend 20190 as it is where RTC and the Metrorail stations are. Townhouses in your price range come available from time to time. If you see something that interests you, consider taking a look at it to see what you think. You can find something if you will consider condos. You can find condos in your price range. Take a look at the current listings to see what you think:

There are parts of 20191 that are near the intersection of Wiehle and Sunrise Valley Drive that have older townhouses. Many are an easy walk to the Wiehle Metrorail station. With 20191, there are a few areas that aren't the greatest. Plus the further south you go, the further you are from Metrorail. That said, I'm sure you could find a bus route that would get you there.

20194, North Point Village has a very suburban feel. Plus there are townhouse communities there. If you like the looks of 20194, you would either take a bus or drive to the Wiehle Metrorail station and park there. Last I heard, there will be no parking garages by the RTC station.

Got it, thank you so much for this additional detail, the RTC area sounds like it would be a better fit overall based on this!
