Due to spouse commuting to multiple areas we were targeting the Old Town/Historical district areas in Alexandria (Lyles Crouch ES) for a 3 BR rental. We aren’t seeing many rentals listed though, and what there is goes fast. What other elementary schools do you all like in Alexandria? We have a friend who liked Clermont alright, but we were hoping to get closer in if possible. I’d love easy access to the Mt Vernon bike trail, and of course metro (blue/yellow). Greatschools lists pretty much everything low in Alexandria, so hasn’t been too helpful. Are the schools really that bad, or is greatschools skewed? We don’t care beyond elementary school, will be moving before middle school is relevant. TIA

I used to live in the Samuel Tucker ES area on the West End of Alexandria and neighbors were pretty happy with that school. I know other ACPS families who have spoken positively about Cora Kelly.

Maury Elementary, Charles Barrett Elementary, George Mason Elementary, and Douglas MacArthur are all good elementary schools in Alexandria.
