Looks like a new 'lifestyle center' is being developed in Loudoun County.
Sounds like it's supposed to be along the idea of One Loudoun.

Loudoun/Fairfax have already developed comprehensive plans for the area around the metro station about 5 to 10 years ago. It will take a long time to build out, just like the new town Waterside to its north envisioned a 30-year development time frame. The owners of The Hub, Origami and Timberlake, bought out the CIT.

Does anyone have the pulse of what Loudoun County residents think of these high-density developements?

Years ago, people would push back when such developments were proposed but the BOS would run roughshod over those who didn't want such large scale builds.

I'm thinking that many still object but have long since tired of fighting it.

I wonder if it could also be that the demographic of Loudoun is changing, too.
I've wanted to move out to Loudoun, but think I'll have to go farther out because of the sprawl.

Current zoning prevents this type of growth (and general sprawl) on the west side of Rt 15. So, yes, you'd have to go much further into Loudoun to avoid it. But to me, it is SO worth it!!

I was just looking at land west of 15. Looked at houses in that area and decided to focus there.

Their long term plan is to concentrate new urban towns along Route 28 corridor where there aren't much in the way of detached home communities to work around. Kincora is just up the road. Buses from PWC will feed into Innovation Center station.

Shopping malls are dead and these "lifestyle complexes" are the new hot ticket. Being attached to a Metro should help with popularity.

Will be interesting to see if they maintain popularity or are ironically torn down to make new shopping malls 30 years from now when the tide changes again...
