Can anybody recommend a real estate/rental management company or person that they have worked with. I have been searching for the right townhome/rowhouse/SFH that is in a safe neighborhood, will accept my 30 pound dog, and is walking distance to a metro station, either Virginia or DC is fine. My husband and I will have to commute into DC if we live in Virginia.

I have tried to work with 3 different people, 2 said they would email me listings which I have never received and the 3 person even though he did send me listings, doesn't know anything about the properties i.e. about parking etc.

My husband is already in the metro area but has not been for long and I am relocating there soon, we need to find a home by the end of September. Can anyone help?

Thank you

Have you tried militarybyowner.com? There are many nice rentals listed. When you click on Virginia, you need to select a military installation. Select Ft. Belvoir, the Pentagon, or Ft. Myer to get the closest ones to DC. Hope you find one that fits your needs!

It does give that impression that it is only for military to use, but anyone can rent, buy or advertise property on there. The only thing that makes it "military" associated is the properties are usually near military installations.

For each place (Virginia, DC, and Maryland), click on the military bases closest to DC. DC has Bolling AFB and Ft. McNair; Maryland has Andrews AFB.

Another place to check into is Alexandria, since many in the city have dogs. McEnearney Associates was also the first to pioneer searches for houses/rentals with dogs in the area. They might offer some assistance in your search.

What exactly does a Australian website have to do with properties to sell/rent in Virginia?

Maybe the commute from Australia is quicker than that from Gainesville.
