I went to class at 7 pm on 8/26/08 when i came back before 10 pm several Alexandria police cars were at the corner of S Whiting and Stevenson Ave. A man was shot and killed during that three hour time span. This man was described as tall, black, and usually walked the landmark area with a short girl by his side.

Shooting In Alexandria - 08/26/08
The young guy who was shot and killed was homeless. He and his girlfriend (the short girl that you spoke of) were living in the parking garage below the office building at 205 S. Whiting Street. He got into an argument with two guys over what was presumed to be drugs. It is a sad situation. Hats off to the Alexandria Police Dept. for catching the two responsible for the crime so quickly.
