I was down there this weekend and definitely the whole atmosphere hasn't changed. City life at its finest.

No way would I/people I talked to rate VCUs overall business program that high.

My list de 2009

1.UVA
2.W&M
3. GMU
4.JMU/Vtech
5.VCU

Maybe you were so intelligent that they saw potential in you.
So you took a walk through the campus, and I am a product of this school. Did you go to the new business school, or other parts of the campus?
Although I haven't experienced it, other parts of the school have not changed as rapidly (if at all) compared to the School of Business.
The City of Richmond is the City of Richmond. It will never be a JMU campus.

I don't consider myself intelligent. I had to work really hard to graduate and get a full-time job. VCU is different between a lot of other universities because a lot of the students are working part-time or full-time while in college and they have to pay for their own education. I know that if I didn't have to spend time waiting tables 4 nights a week, I probably could have done better. Sometimes I had two jobs when I did my business internships and worked at the restaurant. But that is the past. I am kind of glad that I paid for my own education, especially from VCU. I have heard some recruiters complain about the arrogance from UVA and VT (no hate from me). I just smile . I got the same education and the same job any other business school student would get, except I didn't have to pay a premium price for it. I got a deal!

I go down there alot to visit friends that attend. I walked through most of the campus briefly, but mainly stayed on Cary St. By no means am I shunning potential college students from selecting VCU or dwelling deeper into their great programs, but as far as regionally, and nationally, VCU doesn't make the cut quite yet. I think its in part due to the president who is retiring attempting to make the school larger but also in the process he was neglecting the good programs and they faultered somewhat because of it.

Overall though, VA has one of the best school selections in the country.
