Does anyone know of any good haunted houses in Centreville area? I want to take the kids to one that will scare the pants off them! They aren't as terrifying as they used to be, but I was looking for some advise.

I don't know of any haunted houses in the area (it would be fun to have one though!). The closest thing I can suggest is the Pumpkin Playground/Fall festival at Cox farms. They have a "haunted" hay ride which is more entertaining than terrifying, but fun all the same.

Depending on their ages, your kids might enjoy one of the "ghost tours" in Old Town Alexandria.

Good recommendation. I took my 3-year old son to Cox Farms last weekend and he LOVED it. It definitely seems to be a must-do event if you have kids and live in NoVa.

Try the annual "Clifton Haunted Trail". There is an earlier nonscary version and then a latter scary version. My 10 year old and my husband said it was great last year any my son was pretty freaked out! I think it is Oct. 25 this year. Google Clifton, Va. and click on their website for information. The "Bunnyman Bridge" is also in Clifton. (google that too). We drove our kids under it last year while telling them the legend and they were crying for my husband to turn around! (I guess we are terrible parents). Clifton is really close to Centreville in case you aren't familiar with it. Good Luck!
