Orange Hunt, Irving and West Springfield are all very good schools.

I live relatively close by, and although my wife & I don't have kids quite yet, I've heard a lot of good things about Orange Hunt Elementary. We live in the Newington Forest neighborhood/attendance area, which isn't far away.

However, the vibe I've always got living in Newington Forest is that we'd want to move over into the Orange Hunt attendance area when we decide to start a family. Sadly, Newington Forest seems to have a number of parents (generally our neighbors) who don't seem to care about their child's education as much as they should. There's realistically no way to sugarcoat that.

Those are good schools (look at their profiles on FCPS Home Page Redirect Page) and the time saved on the commute will definitely make living there worthwhile.
