We're moving to the area and we'd like to live in West Springfield. There's not much on the market other than a lot of Richmond American homes waiting to be built. I've googled the company and come up with some complaints, but none from people in NoVa. Does anyone have personal experience with that company? Are the houses good quality?

We build and live in a Richmond American home in Gainesville. I like the style of our home (and their homes in general), and we are happy overall with the home. We have had a few minor problems, as have some of our neighbors, but I attribute that more to the time it was being built rather than Richmond American. We built in 2002, during the huge building phase that took place around here. I think builders just wanted to get the houses built, and didn't take much time on making sure the quality was good. Now that things have slowed down, I wouldn't worry so much.
