I am moving from Texas to Fredericksburg area and will be working in the Mary Washington Hospital, Fredericksburg (mainly) and few shifts at the new Stafford Hospital Campus.

I am planning to rent a place in Stafford (Off exit 143 on I-95 on and around Garrisonville Road). That area is around 14-15 miles from my work place (using google maps).

Is that area nice? How bad will be traffic going from Stafford to Fredericksburg in the morning and afternoon times? Any other areas

It's been a while since I moved, so not sure of the new hospital location (off Rt. 1 I think), anyway, you should be fine going to work in Fredericksburg MOST of the time. If possible, avoid heading south on 95 from about 4-7pm. Any other time will be a reverse commute.

Good luck with the move!

Traffic shouldn't be too bad. As I remember, in the morning it's all heading north and then it all goes south in the evenings (both 95 and route 1).

Thanks guys. Traffic was my main worry. But as I will be commuting in the reverse direction, it should be ok.

How is the school system in Stafford? I have one 3 years old.

This area is a bear no matter what direction you are going. I've been driving it for 30 years and know the area well. There are lots of short cuts on country roads. I'm sure you will find the need to locate them in the future. The school system is alittle above average. Crime is moderate to low. Road rage is a big concern.
