I'm looking for a great place for Dim Sum. The type of place that walks around with the carts. Went to a great place in Gaithersburg this past weekend, and was hoping there was a good place in NOVA.

An easy way of looking in your area is through yelp (www.yelp.com) just type in your area or zip code and dim sum in the other search box and it will go through the reviews and pull up the places nearby with the term in them (not all are relevant but at least you get 'real people' up to date reviews)

I don't know the name, but there is one right at Seven Corners (you know in Falls Church, near the insanely complicated intersection of roads). It is very authentic, with carts, sounds like what you are looking for. I apologize, it's been a few years, but it's right on one of the major roads. [OK, google search turned it up: Fortune of Seven Corners, Falls Church].

I haven't been able to find any good dim sum places in Nova and end up driving to Maryland to get it.

Tyler Cowen's Ethnic Dining Guide

he mentions Mark's Duck House. We went last year and I got VIOLENTLY ill afterward. I thought I was going to end up in the hospital. But my husband, who ate the same stuff was fine although he didn't like the food. Your call. Washingtonian likes it.

Mark's Duck House is the best in NoVA. Prepare to wait in line if you get there after they've been open for 15 min. Next best is Lucky Three on Rt. 7 in Bailey's Crossroads. After that is Fortune by Home Depot, across Rt. 50 from Mark's. The only other one I can think of in NoVA is Reston and I think it's owned by the same folks who own Fortune, might even be called Fortune too. New Fortune in Gaithersburg is super, but always has a line. I just returned from a month in China and really miss the good food.

New Fortune in Gaithersburg is where I went last weekend. It was great. But can't see driving there from Alexandria when I have a craving. Will give Mark's a try, after CNY. Spent 3 weeks in China myself and so miss the food. Thanks for all the tips.
