I have a concrete walkout stairway (all concret including steps) that i was hoping to re-finish with stones....to make it look pretty and professional.

anyone know where the best/cheapest place to purchase the stone would be?

i tried home depot tonight....not that much selection....plus, what they had was made of concrete....it only 'looked' like real stone. I tried craigslist and theres not much to find there right now.....

thoughts?

Go directly to your local Luck Stone that has a retail store front... Good luck, sounds beautiful!

I bought stone from Luck but it was for a different type of job...the price depends on what type of stone you choose and the amount you need...They were very easy to deal with and I think after the order was placed they delivered it the next day...good luck!

Shenandoah Masonry & Stone, located on Rt. 50 in Upperville, has the best selection I've seen in the region. As for your desire for the "cheapest," it's difficult to compare their choice and varied stock with what's not available at a Lowe's or Home Depot or a Meadows Farms; they do, though, seem to be competitive with other specialty suppliers.

Welcome to Shenandoah Masonry and Stone

One caveat: if you live in an HOA, check with their regs. Believe it or not my HOA is now actually regulating what kinds of stones people can use!

that's silly!
good point though.....i checked with my HOA before making my walkout basement and they said that as long as the walkout is inside my fenced area, they couldn't care less....
so i highly doubt they would care about the type of stone i use when the project is done....u know?

Sisler's in Falls Church - great selection but I don't think they deliver so you'll need a truck.

I agree, it is silly to over-regulate down to that level. But just saying in case anyone else has the misfortune of living in such a place.
