I met with a realtor to look at a home in a new development. I had previously obtained a pre-approval letter. I met with my realtor to assist with help in the new development. After arriving home, I received a call from the realtor saying the mortgage company was backing out from the pre-approval and wasn't able to finance me because they've decided not to finance my credit score. I never received a call from the mortgage company pertaining to them rescinding the offer which I've had for almost a month. The realtor SUGGESTED I contact the preferred lender at the builder and I was qualified and my credit score had gone up since the first application.

Is it something shaky with the realtor?

Thanks for all your help.

Yes, something is fishy. Why would your mortgage company call your real estate agent with information about you? Why would they tell your agent anything about your finances? Call the pre approval company and ask them. When you get the answer, fire your agent.

Yes, call the original lender to see what is going on. Their representative should have called you to let you know their decision if indeed they had changed their mind about lending to you.
