Why exactly? Sounds like she did nothing wrong and IKEA screwed up.

Based only on the information presented in the article, IKEA was in the wrong, and the women was certainly within her rights to sue. It seems to me to be an obvious case of negligence. All that weight held by one bungee cord??? Apparently, the jury saw it that way as well.

Ya I too don't see where the woman was at fault in that article... Sometimes people can be too judgemental.

Sounds more like she should be given the "smart to sue" award! What part of the article made you believe she was stupid?

The "as is" section of any store is usually an accident waiting to happen. The garbage that is sold at IKEA is cheap enough for the store not to need to try to make a quick buck selling unstable/damaged merchandiase.

You must be IKEAs lawyer or something, because I find it impossible to see how you might find room to critique this woman. Stuff fell on her and crushed her hip. This has got to be among the dumbest posts I've seen on here.

From what I've read, the merchandise was not unstable or damaged, it was stacked dangerously. And what are you talking about, I've seen the As-Is section in Woodbridge Ikea, it has stuff with missing parts or discontinued items, not damaged.

That's just like saying all the sections in Costco are accidents waiting to happen because they stack/pile their inventory on top of each other on shelves.
