We are moving to Fredericksburg/Spotsylvania, I don't know which one to really use. Our girls will be going to Parkside Elementary. Can anyone tell me what they know/think about this school? It does not rate well on Greatschools.net, but I know some schools are still good even with a bad grade. Any information would be great!!

You aren't going to find much on that school, since it's only a few years old. Did you end up getting a home in Lee's Parke? Anyways, the two good things about that school are that the new YMCA is right next door, and they're in the middle of building a big park around the school (for which they named it). If the public schools are not up to your standards for some reason, you could check out Fredericksburg Academy. They are located near by (near 4-mile fork), and are an awesome private school. I went to Fredericksburg Academy in 4th and 5th grade, but Spotsy public schools every other grade, and I think Spotsy schools aren't bad at all.

I am just trying to get a feel for the school from someone who has a child that goes there. I know the schools in Virginia are waaaayyyy better than California, so I'm not too worried. I was told by someone I met while visiting, that Fred. Acad. is very expensive. I'm sure we will be happy with whatever school our girls go to. No, we are not renting in Lee's Parke. We are still trying to find a place we like. We are going to rent small to save to buy a home next year.
