Dayton's loss of NCR - I agree, that poor city is just taking one hit after another. That won't affect my employment prospects for what its worth, nor my spouse's. But it is going to make it that much more difficult for the area to dig itself out of the situation it's gotten itself into. I saw there was some talk about the city merging with the surrounding areas to form one larger government structure ala Louisville. I think the city is probably eyeing the surrounding areas because that's where most of the money is, but I'm fairly certain the suburbs will resist any effort along those lines. If it does succeed, it will almost certainly result in a significant change in leadership of the city since that will completely change the voting base...it should be interesting to watch, but I'm not sure I want to be a participant!
