MSU, it's indeed quite confusing for the first timer, especially the red X lanes and HOV times. There are HOV signs posted every 1/10th mile on 66 , 95 and 267, you can't miss them.... welcome to traffic HELL

Welcome to NOVA from another displaced Mississippian! I'll try to ignore the "MSU" in your title...HOTTY TODDY!!!

I doubt you'll get out of the ticket. You might see if you can talk with the prosecutor before court. He might be willing to make a deal. NOVA is nothing like Mississippi. Things just don't work the way they do at home.

But, aside from the unfortunate ticket, I'll be you'll love it up here!

Yea you people from Mississippi (spelled right) got some money. Especially DoD and Casino boats. You should be able to pay those fines easily.

If you try to adjudicate the ticket or talk to someone in the county office, and *politely* explain that you're new to the area and got confused with all the traffic and signs (believe me, it can be overwhelming even for those of us who have been here a while), the county MIGHT agree to settle for a lower fine. But I don't think you have any chance of getting the ticket thrown out.

Good luck. I'm sorry you were one of the people caught up in the revenue-making machine around here that goes out of its way to look for people doing the wrong thing.
