I just got a message that has me really bummed. I need your help. Tone does not want to sticky our new FAQ thread, an opinion which I respect. Instead he wants us to bump it.

To be honest, this news breaks my heart. Reality is, within a few hours it will just fall off the page and disappear forever. I really do think it could be so helpful to people moving here... but they have to know it exists.

I worked the whole weekend on it, I thought it was something people would really want. I thought it would be an absolutely invaluable resource. My bad. So if you could bump it from time to time I would really appreciate it.

As for me, well, it's time I took a break. I feel like I worked all weekend on something just to be kicked in the stomach, so maybe it's time to find an activity that is a little more rewarding. I want to make sure people know that nobody drove me away, or anything like that. Please do not start any threads speculating on why I left. The answer is much simpler, I just can't bear to stick around and watch something I worked so hard on slip to the bottom of the page again and again. Before the end of the week it'll be completely forgotten. It's just too sad for me to watch.

Thanks, and it's been a pleasure to know you guys. I'm sorry things had to end on a sad note like this, I blame nobody but myself.

I just linked Normie's FAQ under the General Pointers sticky thread.

Hopefully that's okay - I figured it was a good way to keep the FAQ accessible even if it can't have its own sticky.

I also wanted to add that I don't know why it doesn't deserve to be stickied. Other forums have very similar threads stickied and I think they're super helpful. While there is always the search function, sometimes I get frustrated about not finding what I'm looking for but then not knowing where to go from there. I think having something like the FAQs stickied will cut down on the repeat questions.

Way too much drama going on in the NoVa forum. It's like a middle school popularity contest. You guys need to get off your butts and get out more. We are thankful for your contributions and knowledge, but let the mods take care of the forums and stick to your day job.

I LOVE that thread and thought it would be a great sticky. coming from someone just about to move to NoVa from NY, I thought this was an absolute jewel.
Don't leave Normie...you are way too valuable to everyone here.

I agree! I don't want Normie to leave and the FAQs should be a sticky. I'll bump it too.

Normie, please stay!
