Please help me I need to make an emergency move to the Stafford area of Virginia as my father has fallen and broken his back. His place is to small for our family and I have been searching for days on end for normal apartment listings in various papers and on different sites. I seem to be unable to locate normal listings for appartments. All I can find is condo's town homes and complexes. Is there no rental places left in Stafford? A newspaper that actually lists more than large company adds would probably be helpful. Please feel free to email me as this matter is quite urgent.

Sincerely

Out of Luck in Ohio

Are you looking for a high-rise apartment? I don't think those exist in Stafford. Or do you mean a rental single-family home? You say you don't want a rental TH, condo, or a complex (which I assume you mean a garden-style apartment complex). I'm confused.

I suggest checking Craig's List for rental ads: washington, DC craigslist > northern virginia > apts/housing for rent: search for "stafford"

What I am refering to, sorry for the confusion, is a simple apartment. Perhaps a home that has been converted to apartments instead of a single family home. Also by complex i am refering to all those that you see advertised as Gated Communities.

Ah, ok, I don't think I've seen any fully-converted SFH's in NoVA. The closest thing to that I've seen is sharing a house, where the owner or primary lessor rents out the basement or individual bedrooms.

I worked in Garrisonville about 15 years ago, and I don't remember there being any apartments around there at all back then, but I might have just not noticed. I did find this place:

Aventine at Courthouse Square

There must be others by now, or at least somewhat nearby..I would search Aquia, Garrisonville, etc.. I don't know how close to your dad's house you need to be or what kind of commute you can tolerate, but I used to commute in from Manassas.
