Has anyone been to any of the dog parks in Northern Virginia recently, specifically the one in Leesburg?

I was out in Herndon/Reston a week ago and they were snowed in, and the Chantilly one seems to be cleared out a bit now (the drive that is).

I'm going to be out in Leesburg this afternoon, and was hoping to take my puppy and a friends dog over to the dog park, if I don't have to hike a mile from my car to it.

Great question. Wish I knew the answer, but at least I can bump it so maybe someone else will see it and give you an answer.

Thought I'd share that the Leesburg Dog Park is accessible. The road and parking lot is plowed, but the park itself is pretty muddy. We spent the later part of the day there with the dogs and they were both filthy when we left.

This may be far for you - but in Gainesville there is a small one (but very nice) at Merrifield Garden Center - and you can park right next to it - just a 20 or 25 foot walk to the entrance! It is at 6895 Wellington Road in Gainesville. Here in PWC no one else set up a dog park, so the folks at Merrifield Garden Center did at their new store here (only about a year old now). Smart idea for them, attracts a lot of customers. Oh, you can also take your doggy(s) in the store, they will give them treats and they have some things to buy like fancy toys, food, etc. Their prices are high though, but the dog park is FREE.
