Here in Virginia, we love our pets. In fact, we have a Day of Pet Remembrance. If you've had a pet who died, you can participate in a community memorial service this Friday night at 7 p.m. at St. James Episcopal Church in Leesburg. There will be a slide show of the pet's pictures, candle lighting, and the pet's names will be read aloud. Send your pet's photo to the committee if you want it included in the slide show.
This event is free. No animals are allowed at the service, however. More information:

I didn't know we did things like that. Is it an annual thing? I've been to the Blessing of the Animal events at a local church, but never a memorial service.
