Does anyone know the best consignment shops to sell/buy clothing in Arlington or Alexandria? Thanks!

There used to be one on Washington Blvd next to the old Whitey's restaurant.. I think its now a wine place called Tallaco. They still have the EAT sign out in front. Does anyone know if the consignment shop is open?

I haven't been to that consignment shop in a few years. I didn't like how it was laid out (everything was squished on the racks) and the owner/manager was stuck-up. I have no idea if it's still operating.

There's Auntie Te's in the Bradlick Shopping Center in Annandale (corner of Backlick & Braddock). I don't know how prices are for the consignees, but I do know the shop has been in business for more than 10 years, so she's doing something right.

I typed "consignment Alexandria, VA" into a search engine and found a lot of places, mostly in Old Town and a couple in Del Ray. I can't speak for the reputation of any of them... but at least it would make for an interesting stroll to compare.

As I was walking along King Street in Old Town Alexandria yesterday, I couldn't help but notice the number of consignment shops in the area, particularly those that were noted on the side street signs posted to direct people off the "beaten path". Again, as a dude I can't vouch for the quality of any of these places...but at the very least there's seems to be a variety to choose from.

It depends on what you are trying to consign. I go to Auntie TE to consign - they are nice to work with and their store gets a lot of traffic. But they are really picky about quality clothing - no pilling, no stains, no wear.

I use to consign with Classy Consignments in Springfield, but the owners are really standoffish. They rarely acknowledge you and when they do it is as if you are bothering them by shopping. In Arlington, I really like Current, but their stuff tends to be more designer and the price tag reflects that.

There is a place across from The Christmas Attic in Old Town Alex. that somehow I'd never been in before, they have "designer" labels (although I question some of the names) and the prices are REALLY high IMO, not sure how much they give back to the consignees though.

Look down some of the side streets that run off of King St. in Old Town. There are quite a few.
