This is our first Spring Break in NOVA, so we're looking for some suggestions on what to do. We'd like to get away for a couple of days, but don't want to be necessarily mixed in the middle of spring break crowds. Do all of the school districts in NOVA & MD share the same SB? We're in Loudoun County, so our break is the last week of this month. DS wants to go to Kings Dominion or Hershey Park, but of course, I'm sure that's where everyone else will be, also. Any fun get-aways to recommend? We're relatively new here, so just about anything will be fun for us. TIA!

Williamsburg and Jamestown would be nice at this time of year, not too hot. On the same visit you can tour Norfolk naval base and the ships there. There's lots to do in the Tidewater area.

Avoid Dewey Beach. That's spring break central!

I'm not sure when Spring Break hits. If it's in April, Williamsburg or Cape May would be pretty (you'll see more flowers in Williamsburg this year, however). If Spring Break is in March, maybe the Shenandoah Valley would be fun to visit. I once had a very nice St. Patrick's Day in Staunton.

There won't be any revelers at Dewey Beach at the end of March, unless they are wearing wetsuits. And Kings Dominion doesn't open until April. Hershey Park is further north, so it's unlikely to be open then either.
Williamsburg would be nice. You can always take a day or two to drive to the Outer Banks. If it's not too cold and windy, the sand dunes at Jockey's Ridge are fun.

I know that Fairfax County is also out on the same last weekend of March. So between them and Loudoun County, there will be a lot of kids - and families in general, I suppose - itching for something to do.
