You can also pay a small fee (around $300) I believe to have it listed on the MLS. Maybe someone else can confirm this, but at one point years ago I looked into this for someone who was selling a FSBO property.

There are several companies in the area who will place the home in the MLS for a fee. Just make sure they give you the proper disclosure forms to supply to prospective buyers.

trulia.com, militarybyowner.com. There's a for sale by owner website that she can get ideas from. I'm a relationship type of agent and prefer face to face with prospects....so door knocking and open houses are a big part of my business. If this is something that interests her, have her make up "just listed" flyers and have her deliver them to 20 neighbors on her street. She needs to actually speak with them AND leave the flyer.

GoToFSBO.com has been around the longest in Northern VA - they offer straight for sale by owner programs and flat fee mls programs ($275). They will also handle the contract to closing service.
