I wonder why you would assume that what I said about the laptops sprouting legs was due to the fact that they were being given to EC kids.

Kids - no matter what their zip code - lose and/or break everything.

50-something Tea Party trolls at NWI.com talking about this subject leave one jaded.

My apologies.

LOL, if you drive through the crime trifecta of Gary, Hammond, and E.C. apparently if you make it out alive you're one of the lucky ones seems to be the consensus among them. I have lived here since I was born, and I work in the Loop. While I could afford to move somewhere else, I stay here of my own accord, because I do have younger family members that I attempt to mentor.

Um yeah...pick Munster or Highland. I live in EC. Been here for 4 yrs. I'm desperate to leave. It's not horrible, but I don't have a sense of calm or safety I had in my old town.

A friend of mine last summer (just a couple blocks from my house) saw a 4 person murder in broad daylight while children were running around playing. My fiance went to get milk one night and had to dive back into his truck because people were shooting up our neighbor's bedroom...shooting up their house!! I could really go on and on about the crime. Drive-bys. Gang murders. Robbery. Vandalism. Assault.

Keep in mind the "safety" of a place is different from street to street. Streets are the "neighborhood" .. and I think I live on one of the safest streets. Still, "safe" is all relative. I don't go outside after dark without my fiance.

Sitting on the floor during New Years and the 4th of July because people like to pop guns instead of fireworks is not my idea of fun.

Stay away!!
