I got a speeding ticket while driving on h1. The ticket is for 172 and I have a few questions:

1) I am a CA resident so will it show on my CA record after I pay this ticket

2) The cop got it on a laser and he was not facing the freeway (facing opposite side) so do I have a chance of fighting the ticket on this basis?
I just want to fight the ticket as I disagree with the cop's reading of 78MPH in a 55MPH zone. (Pls dont lecture me, all I want is that the fine should be reduced as I was doing around 66-68 MPH and not 78)

3) What is the best way to address the issue? Plead not guilty or guilty. Another important point to note is that I will be doing a 'written declaration' as I cant go to Hawaii from CA to fight a ticket ( )

Thanks for the help in advance.

You should consult an attorney in Honolulu to help you. That's the only advice to take, from an expert licensed to dispense such advice.

You can plead your case in front of a judge and hope they knock the fine down. Hawaii is a reciprical state and the ticket now gets reported to your license state. I have my state licnese but when stopped, show my foreign license. I still pay the fines (since I was wrong) but don't have to worry about points.

If you know your right, gather the evidence and present it to the judge. Show why the ticket isn't correct and why its wrong. The evidence will support your case. If you have no evidence, try breaking down and cry like a baby and see if that works. Thats the only 2 choice I can think of.
