I posted a couple weeks ago about visiting Oahu for a week in December. I found out what city I will be in, and it's looking like Mililani, possibly Wahiawa. My family will be working during the day, so my husband and I get to entertain ourselves. Would like to know as much about the area as much I can!
Any tips, suggestions are appreciated.
Some ?s I have are: What is the closest/best beach for us? I see there is an outlet, is it any good? Any nightlife, or is that restricted to Honolulu/Waikiki?
Just very excited and eager to soak up everything I can.

If you're staying in Mililani or Wahiawa, you can get to the North shore in 15-20 minutes or head down south to Ewa or Ko'Olina in about 10-15 minutes. Both have good beaches. If you head North, you can visit the Dole Plantation and Haleiwa town. Nice day trip. Waikele is where the outlet mall is...I'd say its real average. You're only 20-30 minutes from Honolulu-Waikiki, so plan to spend some time there. Thats where the dining and shopping is at!

it will be about a 20 minute drive to the nearest beach, and about a 30-40 minute drive to honolulu/waikiki where nearly all the nightlife is at
