hey Ruby, Have you thought about going to home depot or lowes and getting wood and building what you want. I'm sure between you, Don, and myself we could come up with something that would work for alot less than buying, if you could even find them here.

SB and Timbo are on the same page. : )

Tim, we might just take you up on that. I was trying to save time but it's not turning out that way. Don was going to build a bridge across the two with lighting and trim it out to look as a built-in, then I would paint them out.

I'll let you know if it's going to be a lumber trip next week.

Mahalo, Ruby

Ruby, I'm glad you found an answer to your book shelf dilemma, but I also hope you can get a chuckle out of my story....had yet another 'this stays, this goes' discussion with the DH this a.m.....and now thanks to your latest 'Making Hawaii Work for Newcomers" post I'm keeping all FIVE of my bookcases! Varying sizes, but two matching. If the house is too small in Hawaii, I know what to put on Craigslist!

Aloha Allison, too funny. What happened to just suitcases and Flatrate boxes? Hmmm, you're a collector like me, that's not going to happen.
Just remember, they ain't gonna fit in a 4x4x4 crate.

The babies may also need some special care here due to humidity, have been known to pluck a string or 2 myself.

Aloha SL,

When your drive through Kapolei, on the corners around Costco & Outback, there are often signs from a company that imports items from Bali. They sell out of a local storage unit. Usually open on weekends. They have different wood items. I think their name might be Bali Moon? Not certain.
