Hi y'all! I'm planning my third trip to Oahu - going Nov. 14-23! YAY! This time my little sister is going with me. She is a fairly good surfer.. in TEXAS. Well everyone knows we have only baby waves, except during hurricanes, and she DOES surf the hurricanes.

When I went in August my other sister and i were able to surf in Waikiki. (note - this sister and I are NOT surfers, just messing around) But from what I remember about November - not so much waves there and only big huge waves at North Shore.

Can anyone recommend "intermediate" waves on Oahu that time of year. I know the contests are scheduled for that week at haleiwa (Reef Invitational) and I know that it is likely she won't be able to surf North Shore because too big and too crowded in the line-up. Any suggestions?

Thank you C-D friends

You will need to check the surf report - there may be plenty of surf on the south facing shores (Waikiki/Ala Moana). Depending on conditions, you can try south facing Ala Moana Beach Park (not as crowded as Waikiki) or Sandy's (East Facing) - you always want to check this before going to see conditions.

Thanks so much - our condo is right by the Ala Moana mall so that would be easy access!
