I'm looking for recommendations on safe neighborhoods where the communities lean towards liberal and where artists, musicians, writers, yogis, vegetarians and other like minded folks tend to live on Oahu or in the Honolulu metro area. Any ideas or recommendations?
Thanks!

Haleiwa on Oahu's North Shore might interest you.

Thank you!

Anyone one have any other suggestions (perhaps something near the Honolulu, Kaneohe or Kailua areas?)

Manoa is very conservative although there is an artistic element in there. Nuuanu along the Pali highway has a lot of possibilities. The Hare Krishna have a temple there along with just about every other religion on the island.

Hawaii in general doesn't do homogenized neighborhoods, there's a little bit of everyone all mixed together so you may not find a whole enclave of one particular persuasion.
